Throwback Thursday: First Year of College

I won’t share the year, but I thought I would share some photos of my first year at college.  I know, I know, all the pictures are of me and my parents.  I don’t have permission to share pictures of my friends (I promise I did have some), so I’m not including them at this time.  I hope you enjoy my flashback to the 1990s!  Any thoughts and comments would be appreciated!

I loved Indiana Jones!

Silliness on the fire escape.

I had a thing for hats

Packing for a weekend home, perhaps

My Dad at Parent’s Weekend (it switched to Family Weekend my second year, I think). He was so proud that I was going to Smith. I really miss him.

Mom and I at Parent’s Weekend. She’s been gone for 10 year’s now and I think of her every day.

Here I am before our Spring Semi-Formal. Yes, I did the typical college student thing at the time and cut my hair. I was also experimenting with black and white *gasp* film.

Such fun…ah, college days. I like that the Spring semi-formal is in black & white. Since you chose such a classic, timeless gown, it makes it hard to pinpoint the era, which is interesting. I like your short hair too. Sometimes it’s good to have a change for awhile.

Thanks! I discovered they still made black and white film and had a lot of fun with it.

You look lovely in black and white! And in a very blast-from-past here-to-haunt-us-with-her-quest sort of way, which is just perfect for the kinds of things you write.

And I love your wall! What’s that poster of, the one at the center?

Thanks! Maybe I’ll use it as a featured image for a story!

I don’t remember what the poster was! The art center int he town was having a big sale first semester and we all went and bought posters for our rooms.
