College Advice

Are you the parent or guardian of a High School student who plans on attending college? Are you a High School student starting to think about college? There are so many colleges and universities in the US, so much information to process, and so many myths about the process. I have 3 children who have gone through the admissions process between 2019 and 2023. I have also acted as Crazy College Mom and helped some of their friends with the process.

Over the years, I’ve gathered a lot of information that helped make the daunting task a little less scary. Rather than letting that knowledge go to waste, I decided to share it.

In case you’re curious, I’ve helped guide college hopefuls get into the following colleges and universities:

Barnard College
Brown University
Bryn Mawr College
Clarkson University
Colgate University
Cornell University
Dartmouth College
Franklin & Marshall College
Harvard College
High Point University
Lehigh University
Northeastern University
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
Rice University
Rochester Institute of Technology
Smith College
Siena College
Vassar College
University of Pennsylvania

I am happy to answer questions, share information, and discuss preparing for college, the admissions process, financial aid, and my experiences.

Always remember, this process is about the student, what they want, and realistic expectations. I’ve always let the student take the lead, and partnered with them (offering advice and a sounding board) during the process. It can be scary and stressful, but also very exciting!
